BOMBERGERS DECLARATION KENTUCKY BOURBON - 750ML

750 ml

The name on the bottle carries more than 200 years of American whiskey history. Bomberger's Distillery operated in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania — in Lebanon County, a short distance from Lancaster — beginning in 1753, when brothers John and Michael Shenk established the first distillery on a site that would operate under various names across two and a half centuries of American history. Under the Bomberger family's ownership in the 19th century, the distillery became one of the most celebrated producers of Pennsylvania whiskey. It eventually became Michter's in the 20th century before financial difficulties forced its closure in 1989. When the current Michter's team revived the brand in Louisville in the 21st century — named The World's Most Admired Whiskey three consecutive years by Drinks International — they also revived the Bomberger's name as the centerpiece of their Legacy Series: an annual limited-edition release that honors the most historically significant distillery address in American whiskey, in a bottle designed to declare boldly that the tradition continues. One bottle per customer, please. Every year the Bomberger's Declaration is a little different — a specific barrel program designed by Andrea Wilson, Master of Maturation, that gives each annual release its specific identity. The 2025 release used Chinquapin oak with varying seasoning periods from 18 months to five years. The 2026 release adds Hungarian oak alongside the Chinquapin — a first for the Bomberger's Declaration, and a production decision whose effect the official Michter's description captures with complete precision: "the addition of Hungarian oak thereby creating an intriguing, rich chocolate decadence around the cherry and spice attributes characteristic of Chinquapin." Dark cherry. Chocolate. Baking spice. Toasted pecans. Butter toffee. A silky texture supported by carefully seasoned exotic oak. The VinePair reviewer called the 2025 "a patient approach to maturation that lets the woo
